The Loudoun Hunt

 

LOUDOUN HUNT

HUNTER TRIALS

1. Warm up - Open to all - 2'6"-3'
2. Junior Hunter over Fences
3. Junior Hunter under Saddle
4. Novice Hunter over Fences
5. Novice Hunter under Saddle
6. Open Hunter over Fences
7. Open Hunter under Saddle
8. Pairs over Fences
9. Pairs under Saddle
10. Teams Over Fences
11. Teams under Saddle

Junior Hunter Division - Horses and Ponies to be ridden by Juniors (18 or under) who are members of a Hunt, Pony or 4-H Club. Jumps approximately 2'6" to 3'.

Novice Hunter Division - Horses and Ponies that are in their first or second season of hunting to be ridden by members of a recognized hunt. Jumps approximately 2'6" to 3'.

Open Hunter Division - Open to all Horses, Ponies and Riders - Jumps approximately 3'.

Pairs Division - Open to teams of horses and/or ponies. - Jumps approximately 2'6" to 3'.

Teams Division - Open to teams of three horses and/or ponies. Jumps approximately 2'6" to 3'. 

SCHOOLING: Weather permitting, Sat. Oct. 14, 2pm - 4pm. ($10 per horse)

Horses to be judged on manners, way of going and suitability as field hunters.

Proof of Negative Coggins Test within 12 months required.

Appropriate hunting attire required. Appointments optional.

Six Ribbons in each class - Champions and Reserve Champions in each division.

The winner of the field class will be the Grand Champion of the day and will receive a trophy.

Special prize to the best turned out horse and rider.

Loudoun Hunt, Inc. will donate capping fees to the Champions and Reserve Champions in each division.

Entry fee in all classes will be $15 per horse. All entries Post Entries.

Mary B. Godfrey Perpetual Trophy awarded to the Loudoun Hunt member, who best represents the Hunt on the day of the trials. Judged on enthusiasm, sportsmanship and turnout as well as the horse's performance. Green armband to be worn to declare eligible riders.

Paula Wimert de Oliviera Perpetual Trophy awarded to the Loudoun Hunt junior member, who best represents the Hunt on the day of the trials.
