Crossed the road into the
Laycock Farm. Put into the northwest corner of the first cornfield. Young
entry showed reasonable interest. Worked the corn thoroughly but drew it
blank.
Dropped down to the wet
weather creek bed drawing north along the fence line. Hounds showed
interest near the end of the line but it was probably an old night not a
fresh track.
Moved the hounds to the
next cornfield, drawing it to the south. Very dry inside the corn, it is
already turning brown. Not much interest in this patch of corn. Came out
at the bottom near the power line into the Hume.
Drew toward the creek
below the pond. Hounds found, not sharp but clearly fresh. The line
backtracked over spoilt ground toward the barn below the second cornfield.
Hounds pushed it up into the open field to a den. They marked it but it
was not certain that was where "Charlie" had gone. Did not blow
to ground.
Picked up and called it a
day. All hounds accounted for. Young entry did well.
